After ‘Rajneeti’ one can see Manoj Bajpayee as an independent hero in ‘Dus Tola’.....

Inspired by some folk tale, the makers of the film have retained the rural essence in the film. Manoj here plays the role of Shankar, a village goldsmith who is head-over-heels in love with his neighbour’s daughter Suvarnalata (Aarti Chhabria). But the girl’s father Daya Shastri (Dilip Prabahvalkar) has big plans for her. How Shankar wins over the girl much against all odds forms the crux of the story.

Yesterday the first look of the film was unveiled at Gitanjali Store, Atria Mall - by Manoj, Aarti, producer Kunwar Pragy Arya and director Ajoy.

Poster of the film shows caricature of the artistes in a state of disarray and puzzlement, each trying to grasp the situation from its tail. Commented Manoj Bajpayee, “I have enjoyed working in this film. It’s simple but has so much of humor coming out of everyday life. Its comedy is 24 carat pure. It’s a fun film.” When asked if he would like to buy gold jewellary or diamonds for his wife, he remarked, “If it is left to me I would go for diamonds but my wife has a taste for gold. And women do win in the end.”

While director Ajoy stated, “I had always wanted Manoj to play the role of Shankar. He has brought forward the element of humor in much understated manner, making it real and clean. There is nothing slapstick about this film but it makes people laugh. It has reflection of Malgudi Days but very fresh in its perspective.”

On the other hand Aarti is happy that she has got a performance oriented role and is “waiting for the audience response.”

‘Dus Tola’ is releasing on 22nd October.
