Finally comes a film which can be expected to give audience something to cheer about - literally so - after 'Ready'. During the last three weeks the only film which has managed to entice audience is 'Ready'. However the time has come for some mega footfalls to be evidenced all over again for a new film. 'Double Dhamaal' should manage to do this and that too in a big way, what with the promos promising a fun ride ahead.

Yes, let the fact be stated though that the film deserved a much better pre-release buzz and hype for itself, especially after the terrific theatrical promo that was aired around a month and a half ago. At that time it seemed that the film was a certain 50 crores affair in the making since it's fun quotient obviously seemed far more whacky than 'Dhamaal'. However during last month all talks have been centred on 'Ready' due to which 'Double Dhamaal' did lose out on the hype quotient to some extent. Now that is expected to make an impact on the film's opening which instead of being very good to excellent (around 70%-80%) will now have to settle down for something good (50%-60%).

That should still be good enough for the film to make a mark as it is a medium budget affair and hence is safe at the very outset. One can well expect that the film is lapped up by the masses and sees a constant escalation from weekend to weekdays. Reason being that next week arrive 'Delhi Belly' as well as 'Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap' which are going to be very huge competition for 'Double Dhamaal'. However the Arshad Warsi and Riteish Deshmukh starrer can take solace from the fact that it is a solo release and hence would have the entire field open for it to make merry.

Meanwhile 'Ready' has now crossed 'Golmaal 3' (108 crores) and more or less equalled 'Ghajini' (115 crores). With this Salman Khan officially has two of his films (other being 'Dabangg' - 140 crores) in Top-3 zone with Aamir Khan leading from the front with '3 Idiots' (200 crores).
