The immensely popular icon of Kannada cinema Dr.Rajkumar was remembered all over the Karnataka state on 12th of April on his first death anniversary. Fitting tribute was paid to the icon in Bangalore. Hectic activity with tight police security in Bangalore started early morning of 12 th April. People thronged the Samadhi of Dr.Rajkumar at Kanteerava studios from various parts of Karnataka like Hubli, Dharwad, Gulbarga, Mangalore, Raichur, Mandya, Mysore and other districts. The film industry attendance was seen at the Samadhi and at the residence of Dr.Rajkumar in the afternoon.

The huge family of Dr.Rajkumar visited the Samadhi at 10 am. Smt.Parvathamma Rajkumar broke down in tears at the Samadhi place. The floral decoration was very colorful at the Samadhi and its surroundings.

Here we give you what are the other activities that took place on the first death anniversary of Dr.Rajkumar.

* Dr.Rajkumar family members headed by Smt.Parvathamma Rajkumar met the media in the afternoon and set a deadline till 24 th for government to finalize on the work at Samadhi. Smt.Parvathamma Rajkumar has given seven points memorandum to government of Karnataka on what should be done at the Samadhi.

* Karnataka chief minister H.D.Kumaraswamy has declared that there will not be any further delay in setting up the requirements at Samadhi.

* The eldest son of Dr.Rajkumar – Shivarajkumar confirmed the formation of Dr.Rajkumar Trust. The youngest son Puneeth Rajkumar said he has completed 40 percent of the writing of the book on his father Dr.Rajkumar. Raghavendra Rajkumar the second son of the icon wondered why the government has not taken right steps quickly on the conversion of Samadhi as memorial.

* Nearly 2000 persons signed the papers for donating their eyes after death. It may be recalled that Dr.Rajkumar donated his eyes after death.

* The Karnataka film industry was present at the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce at 10 am to remember Dr.Rajkumar.

* Mass feeding was held at Kanteerava studios where the Samadhi of Dr.Rajkumar is situated.

* The guests, industry friends, media and others were given good hospitality at Dr.Rajkumar residence in Sadashivanagar.

* 'Kannada Kanmini' book written by Nandini Basavaraj was released by Smt.Parvathamma Rajkumar.

* Hundreds of businessmen had a very good business in and around the Samadhi place.

* 13000 civil policemen, 30 KSRP troupe, 2 Company RAF, 35 troupe CAR police personnel were pressed in to action for security arrangements.
