2009 will also witness another lackluster Onam, with the big movies and banners, opting for Ramzan season.

As this year Onam will also coincide with the Ramzan month, which extends from August 20 to Septmeber 20, Major releases will get shifted to Ramzan end. As far as the new planning are concerned, the magnum opus ‘Pazhassi Raja’, Dileep's ‘Bodyguard’, and Prithviraj's ‘Robinhood’ are finalised for this Ramzan.

Plans are on to get Mammootty's art house movie ‘Kutty Shranku’ into theatres for this Onam. Similar small budgeted movies are expected to be on theatres for Onam, which falls on the first week of September.

The trade is expecting a big fall in collections in the season, since the Ramzan month always shows low collections in Box Office.
