Golden star Ganesh for his portrayal in 'Cheluvina Chittara' and Pooja Gandhi for her performance in 'Krishna' have bagged the major honors at the well organized, well attended maiden 'Cinegandha-2007' Kannada film awards evening held on Sunday at Gayathri Vihar Palace in Bangalore.

Prajwal Devaraj and Rashmi for 'Sixer' and 'Dhuniya' respectively bagged the debut awards. Kannada film 'Dhuniya' got seven, 'Milana' had to be content with five awards while 'Aa Dinagalu' pocketed two awards.

In a massive set at an estimated cost of Rs.30 lakhs for the four hours event of 'Cinegandha' held jointly by Kasthuri Kannada satellite channel, Pyramid Saimira and Airtel the attendance from the cinema industry was good. Smt.Parvathamma Rajakumar, Prof.K.s.Nissar Ahmed, KFCC President Tallam Nanjunda Shetty took part in the inauguration of the event.

The award winners at the maiden 'Cinegandha-2007' are: Playback singers Rajesh Krishnan, M.D.Pallavi, dialogues and direction Soori, cameraman Satya Hegde, debutant heroine Rashmi, supporting actor Rangayana Raghu – all for Dhuniya, Supporting actress Sumithra, lyricist Jayanth Kaikini, dance director Imran Sardaria, best film, best music director awards went to 'Milana'. Nagendra Urs for editing and Sharat Lohitashva for villain in 'Aa Dinagalu' received the honors. Komalkumar was given the best comedian for Cheluvina Chittara, best debut hero award went to Prajwal Devarj for 'Sixer'.

Dr.Vishnu, V.Ravichandran, MP and union minister Ambarish and Pranayaraja Srinath received 'Snehajeevi' awards, seven music directors Rajan (of Rajan-Nagendra fame) Hamsalekha, Gurukiran, V.Manohar, Sadhu Kokila, Mano Murthy and Rajesh Ramanath were honored with 'Sapthaswara' and the 'Trinetra' award went to icon of Kannada cinema Dr.Rajakumar sons –Shivarajakumar, Raghavendra and Puneeth Rajakumar.

Kudrali Ganesh magic with the backdrop of music and dance was fantastic among all. Anirudh, Deepak Singh, Sharmila Mandre, Pooja Gandhi, Puneeth Rajakumar, Prajwal Devaraj, Dayanand comedy thrilled the very good attendance. MP and actress Jayaprada, V.K.Murthy, R.N.Jayagopal were among others who attended the 'Cinegandha-2007' awards.
