After recent heroic subjects, Mammootty has turned his attention towards serious stuffs now. His next would be Karutha Pakshikal being directed by Kamal.

The movie is all about the troubles and ordeals of the Tamil migrant casual employees.

Mammootty's last serious film was Kazhcha directed by Blessy.

In Karutha Pakshikal, Mammootty plays a Tamil migrant, who earns his livelihood by doing menial jobs. Shreya Reddy and Padmapriya are the two heroines of the film. The film also has Jagathy Sreekumar, Salim Kumar, T G Ravi, Sreehari, Dinesh, Rajesh, Reshmi Gopan, Sreekala, Baby Suhaila, Baby Malavika, Master Tejas, Shruti Balachandran and many others.
