After Mammootty authored a book recently, it’s now Mohanlal's turn to don the writer's robes. He will bring out a book on the exquisite culinary delights of Kerala.

The work on the book will start next month and will take nearly a year for completion, Mohanlal said.

Mohanlal said food was a 'lifelong passion' with him. Called My Culinary Journey, the book, to be brought out by Bangalore-based Stark World Publishing, will give an insight on the food habits of the people from Nagercoil in the south to Kasaragod in North Kerala. It will also feature various mouth-watering unique and traditional recipes the actor came across from the region.

'I consider myself a foodie. Like I enjoy good music or great acting, I enjoy well made food. It could be simple as toddy and fish curry from the local toddy shop or a Thai prawn soup or the Arabic Mutabel as long as it is tasty.'

The actor would soon be opening a hotel in Kochi called 'Travancore Court' which will have unique Travancore dishes. The hotel will have 100 paintings portraying the history of Travancore, he said.
