As the Malayalee heroines have made a beeline to Kollywood, the only actress left available for Malluwood happens to be Padmapriya and Kavya. Kavya who had debuted eight years back has been keeping a good record by concentrating only on Malluwood films. So many actresses came and went in Malayalam, but Kavya Madhavan remained immovable. There was Meera Jasmine, Nayantra, Renuka Menon, Gopika and Bhavana who all came with a bang. But as each one tried their good luck in Tamil.

Kavya Madhavan remained the No 1 actress, but for the first time she is facing a good fight from the Tamil born Padmapriya who has now captured the minds of cine goers with her fabulous performances in many films opposite superstars.

After the fabulous debut in Kazcha and successful appearances with almost all the leading heroes in Malayalam. She could quite become a hit there. The equations right now are just like this-- If Dileep or Prithviraj are the heroes, then the heroine most likely is Kavya Madhavan.

Kavya has made it a record by appearing in the lead opposite her lucky hero Dileep in 15 odd films. But if the film stars either Mammooty or Mohanlal or Suresh Gopi, the heroine inevitably is Padhmapriya!

So in the last few months almost all of the super star films carried one commonness-in the female lead, be it in Aswaroodan, Vadakkumnathan or Bhargava Charitham.

In spite of having been in the film industry for a long time, Kavya didn't exactly succeed in becoming the superstar's heroine. And that's Padhmapriya's biggest advantage. Moreover she has even entered Kavya's shoes as she is now signed in for the next film opposite Prithviraj titled Anantham.

But the recent news happenings say, both superstars are busy with other heroines in their near-future projects avoiding the regular co-starring with the same female leads.
