Dileep managed a narrow escape from a bomb blast, when shooting for the new venture Inspector Garud. The incident that happened two days back was deliberately kept away from the press to avoid the invited panic on shooting .

Dileep and Johnny Antony’s crew were shooting in the Vypin water frontage areas of the Cochin shipyard for the climax of the film Inspector Garud. The shoot was in full swing, working out a lengthy boat chase sequence.

Dileep was in a boat which was planted with filmi bombs, which were to explode on demand.

But a minute of mistiming did made one of the filmi bombs set on the same boat on which Dileep was in, to explode. The bomb which was on the left seat of Dileep was the one which burst out due to miscalculation.

The explosion did wreck a part of the boat and there were some moments of panic as the star was drowned in water that was 160 feet deep. The crew acted fast and the star was immediately lifted up by one of the location patrol boats within minutes. Dileep didn't frazzle to any major injuries.

All he had was a little bruises and scratches on his right side. The crew and the star who waited for sometime to overcome the shock, did continue with the shoot after a few hours. But the entire crew was a little horrified later in the day as a member of a tourist group, who fell into water around the same area succumbed to death in the afternoon.

Inspector Garud which is in its final phase of shooting will packup in a few days. The song sequences which are left will be shot in Singapore, the next week. The film which is expected to end the drought of hits for Dileep is all set to reach the release stations by the last week of January.
