Deepika is said to have adopted a village called Ambegaon in Maharashtra as part of the Greenathon campaign. Quiz Deepika and she says, she heard of this village that has no electricity. The philanthropist in her, made her adopt this village that becomes dark after sunset, making the villagers lives miserable.
Deepika also thought such a deed would help people in their daily lives as they can study, be entertained, etc. Sources say that she will follow it up with the people involved with Greenathon and personally visit Ambegaon.
Earlier it was Kareena Kapoor who gave an Âelectric aid to a village and now itÂs this tall beauty. Guess BollywoodÂs going rural now! A source adds that Deepika did a lot of reading up and spoke with the Greenathon people to find out the problems of the villagers before adopting it. Now, thatÂs sensible adoption!
