"I am never disappointed in life in not getting any awards: it is the movies which keep me going, not the awards”, says Padmapriya who narrowly missed out the top honour this year at National level, but got selected for a special mention for her variety of roles in various languages. She was talking to a media as she announced that, ''I don't do movies for the awards. The awards are made for the films. The films are not made for the awards".

The national jury was in all rave about the range and skill of the actress and the roles that she enacted in movies like Kutty Shrank, Pazhassi Raja and Pokkisham. She was in the role of a love-lorn girl in the Cheran directed ‘Pokkisham’. In ‘Kutty Shrank’, directed by Shanji N Karun, she was a woman affected by her cruel childhood and who finally is drawn towards Buddhism. The actress simply admits that she still hasn't figured out the depth of the character that she did in 'Kutty Shrank'.

Padmapriya has a few projects in her kitty which will be announced soon.
