‘Rathinirvedam’ puja held

The puja for the remake of the cult film ‘Rathinirvedam’, which rocked the nation 32 years ago was held on Friday.

Producer Suresh Kumar of Revathy Kalamandir is remaking the classic film dealt with an off beat love story of a teenage boy falling in live with an older woman.

The original masterpiece starred Krishnachandran and Jayabharathi in main roles. Padmarajan had written the script of the film directed by Bharathan.

Suresh Kumar is the same producer who remade ‘Neelathamara’ last year and won accolades. The new ‘Rathinirvedam’ will have slight changes in the script and will have Swetha Menon essaying the Jayabarathi role.

For the important teenage boy director TK Rajeev Kumar has said two boys have been short listed and the decision would have been made when they start shooting early next year.
