Actor Dileep is known for his special brand of acting. His exaggerated expressions and over the top mannerisms are very much apt for comedy. However, we saw him sans his usual style in the movie 'Chandrettan Evideya', which has found wide appreciation. The director of the movie, Siddarth Bharathan revealed in an interview with a leading portal that he had a tough time convincing Dileep to act in a certain way.

Siddarth said that to make him act in a subtle manner was a task. He adds that they had a lot of arguments regarding this but that it was all worth it. The most time consuming part while shooting was this, says Siddarth. The director is also all praise for Dileep saying that right from the first Dileep was his first choice to essay a character which has a mix of comic element and seriousness. He also lauded Dileep's open mindedness to experiment with a role that he has not attempted earlier.
