Mohanlal, who is reported to have asked for change in the script of Alibhai, has shifted the film to a further date and has started the works of his new film Baba Kalyani. The film will have a script by S.N.Swamy, who was last seen with the troubled scripts of Balram Vs Taradas.

The film with Lal playing a stylish cop will start by October 3. Mohanlal plays a tough-as-a- nail cop, who is very close to his mother and even takes her surname. He is an ordinary cop during the day and in the night he turns into an avenging crusader who heads the anti-terrorist cell in the Kerala police.

Mamta Mohandas who was casted as the heroine in Alibhai will be playing the lead in the new film too, who will appear as a news reporter. The cast also presents Biju Menon, Jagathy and Indrajeet. The film will get released by January 26, 2007, the first offering of Mohanlal in the New Year.
