Nayantara, the leading South Indian actor who made it big from her humble start in Malluwood is back into Malayalam.

Her new film Lakshmi is being released all over the state with 35 prints today. But the bubbly, charming actor is not stepping back into Malayalam through a Mallu film

The movie is actually her Telugu Lakshmi being remade in Malluwood. Under the banner Pallavi International and the direction and screenplay of V.V. Vinayak, it is this movie which made her more popular in Telugu.

The songs in desi version are penned by Rajeev Alungal.
