Grihalekshmi Productions, the prestigious banner in Malluwood is completing its 33rd year in cinema production. As Yes your Honour is completing its 50 days, their second film Note Book a big budget flick was into theatres last week.

P.V.Gangadharan, the man behind Grihalekshmi got interested in film-making in the early seventies and they, as a group of 30 members started Sahridaya Films which produced the Kamal Haasan starrer Sangamam. The first film produced in the banner of Grihalekshmi was Sujatha starring Prem Nazir, Jayabharathy, Mallika and Nanditha Bose. The film directed by Hariharan was a run away hit.

Thereafter Grihalekshmi has been contributing to Malayalam cinema by producing at least a film every year. The biggest and the best run film produced by Grihalekshmi was Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha, considered as one of the classic of Malluwood, which brought a lot of accolades and awards for its mentors.
