Following his continuous failures in the out of the world characters with unlogical heroics and the reasonable success of Sathyan's 'Innathe Chintha Vishayam', Mohanlal is now continuing with the shoot of his latest 'Maadambi'.

With another hit from Sathyan in an emotional soft story, Mohanlal once again have realized what the filmgoers from Malayalam have expected from him. Majority of his sensible fans don’t await his characters with twirled moustaches, but those depicting him as ordinary man with ordinary problems that they can identify.

So, in this new film 'Maadambi' (a feudal aristocratic landlord), Lal is depicting Gopalakrishanan, an ordinary man, who lives by lending money with popularly acceptable interest rates. Kavya for the first time will become the heroine of Lal in the movie playing Jayalekshmi, the manager of the recently opened new generation bank in the village.

Also in the cast are Saikumar, Jagathy, Innocent, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Siddhique, Manianpillai Raju, Jagadheesh and Vijayakumar.

The movie will feature three songs from Gireesh Puthencherry and a poem by Anil Panachooran, set to music by M Jayachandran.

Produced by B C Joshy in the banner of Surya Cinema, the movie will grace the theatres by the end of July.
