The latest offering from Shaji N Karun, ‘Kutty Shranku’ had an inspiring premiere at International Film Festival Of India, this week, but the director is not happy about the fellow filmmakers from the state and Kerala State Chalachithra Academy (KSCA). The world renowned director is alleging that KSCA and its members in the chair are pursuing a planned agenda, to down ride the movie. Shaji, who was one of the earliest chairman of the Academy adds that the present office bearers were recently in Goa, with an aim to destroy the chances of the movie in the international circuit. Shaji feels that, this targeting is all a part of things that had been continuing for quite some time, since the start of his career as a film maker.

Anyhow, Shaji is quite contented with the overwhelming applause that he is receiving from all quarters, after the screening of the new movie. He maintains that he had taken a gap of six years from his last movie ‘Nishad’ to carve out a varied style for this film that is filled with surrealistic narratives. He opines that Mammootty who appears as the title character had performed wonderfully well in the movie as a mysterious boatman.

Shaji will start shooting for his next movie titled ‘Gaatha’ with Superstar Mohanlal by the mid of April, 2010.
