The Home minister of Kerlala, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has ordered for a probe on the death of popular Malayalam film and TV actor Sreenath. The minister forwarded the request from the actor's family, seeking more information about how the actor died in mysterious circumstances.

Sreenath was found dead in a hotel at Kothamangalam with his wrist slashed. The actor was staying the hotel to attend the shoot of Mohanlal's ‘Shikaar’, in which Sreenath was offered a plum role. The suspicion largely lies on the production crew as it is known that the production executive of the movie and a couple of people from the crew has visited Sreenath’s room to tell him about the change of schedules, ten minutes before he was found unconscious bleeding in the room.

The brother of the actor Sathyanath, who held a press conference yesterday, noted that it was shocking to find none from the sets of ‘Shikaar’ in the funeral. Meanwhile, the unhappy incident seems to have added fire into the ongoing clashes inside AMMA, as some reports suggests the omission of Sreenath from the movie due to him being a non-member of AMMA, which had lead into such an ending for the actor. Actor Thilakan, who was recently ousted from the organisation, has used the incident wisely to confirm that there are few more mentally harassed people in AMMA, who may be forced to take such extremes.
