Following the patterns elsewhere in the country, Mani Ratnam's latest ‘Raavanan' opened in maximum centres in the state. The movie which was released in more than seventy centres in the state, has gone for a good opening everywhere. Some cities in the state feature both the Tamil and Hindi versions in adjacent theatres, though the Tamil version ‘Raavanan’ with Vikram, Priyamani and Prithviraj is making maximum collections.

The other film that is clashing with ‘Raavanan’ on the release day is ‘Singam’, which had a three week delayed release from Tamil Nadu. As the reports about the movie are already out on net, the movie didn't make that much expected Suriya opening, typical of his earlier hits like ‘Ayan’.
