The much-awaited Naalai starring Richard and Madhumitha would grace theatres on 16 June.

Yet another gangster film, Naalai chronicles the friendship between two gangsters.

Director Udayabanu Maheswaran says the challenge was in touching the segments in the relationship of two individuals, condemned by the society. 'There is the human side which I have tried to focus. Everyone craves for a better tomorrow and live on hope. Undergoing a bad phase is all in the life of every individual. One needs a strong will power to get out of that and startlife all again.'

Besides Richard and Madhumitha, Nataraj Subramanian, who has worked in numerous advertisement films as cameraman, plays the second hero. Mumbai actor Adityan Srivatsan makes his debut in Tamil.

Karthikraja has scored music for the film, while cinematography by G Ramesh and art by Maniraj.
