Big M heading for another national award?

At last it has finally turned out to be a fruitful year for Superstar Mammootty. The actor who has already grabbed three national awards for the best in acting, is all set to present himself for one more this year, with back to back films that offered him some meaty characters.

2009 already has his much applauded ‘Kutty Shranku’ with Shaji N Karun, in the fray for best actor and best film. The movie is reviewed to have one of the best performances from the actor. Together with its merits will be arriving ‘Pazhassi Raja’-the mega blockbuster of the year, which also have Mammootty in a solid legendary role. Many will remember that it was one such role in ‘Oru Vadakkan Veragatha’ with the same team, which earned him the first award in the National level. The other films that may support Mammootty's claims to the title will be ‘Loud Speaker’ and Renjith ‘Palery Manickyam-Oru Pathira Kolapathakinte Katha’-which had the star in triple roles.

Recently in a function, Megastar Mammootty has confessed that there is really a healthy competition between Kamal Haasan and himself, for securing another national acclaim. As both these stars have three National awards each for best in acting, one more award will make each of them the actor will maximum national awards, and undoubtedly the title of the best actor in the country.

Mammootty said that he had mentioned this stature in a funny way to Kamal when they had met some time back. The megastar also added that he is taking this competition in the lightest manner and also fears that if Kamal plans to take it seriously, then it will be a tough battle for him to emerge the winner.

Anyhow, it is great going from the senior Mollywood star, who is always meticulous in selecting his roles and performing them on screen.
