Raavan - Movie Stills

Hrithik Roshan’s recent release ‘Kites’ had faced cold shoulders from Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC), who had banned the film for trying to release the film in more than 24 theatres in the state.

Now Abhishek-Aishwarya starrer ‘Raavan’ is expected to face there few problems as well.

With a view to protect the Kannada film industry, KFCC has taken steps to restrict the release of non-Kannada films to 24 theatres in Karnataka.

According to reports, the production house Big Cinemas had requested the committee to allow ‘Raavan’ to release in Karnataka as two films, as it is a bi-lingual film being made in Tamil as ‘Raavanan’. But the officials at KFCC have permitted ‘Raavan’ to release in only 24 theatres in the state. Thus Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus project is expected to unfold only in select cinema houses.

A Lakshman rekha for this ‘Raavan’ here…
