It is pretty much out in open. Abhishek is through with movies that have stretched him as a performer but not quite fetched him the results that he feels he truly deserve. Whether it is 'Dum Maaro Dum', 'Game', 'Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey' or 'Raavan', each of them seemed wonderful on paper as it tried to tell a different take. However an indifferent box office outcome of these films has obviously left him disappointed.

"Obviously he wants that to change now," says a close associate, "Abhishek has been experimenting for way too long now if one looks at his films before this like 'Paa' and 'Delhi 6'. Former worked, latter didn't, but then for how long can he keep playing with genres? It is time to go safe and bag some hits."

Though Abhishek isn't bragging much about his innings ahead, he is happy to talk about 'Players' though. Says Abhishek, "Yes, it is the remake of 'The Italian Job' but then it is as 'desi' as it gets that would suit Indian sensibilities. Abbas-Mustan aren't the kind of directors who want to change the face of cinema. They want to give entertainment to audience and think commercial. This is what they have done in 'Players' which is as 'masala' as it gets. Period"

We would like to catch this 'masala' action as well when the film releases this Friday.
