Nani Krishna is producing and directing 'Devaraya' along with Kiran Jakkamsetty on the joint banner of Sunrays International and Nanigadi Cinema with Srikant, Vidisha and Meenakshi Dikshit in the lead roles. The film is all set for release on December 7.

Speaking on the occasion, Srikant says, 'The film had a different subject with Sri Krishnadevaralu in its backdrop. When it is such a historical character, I thought I should be very careful as the character was earlier played by thespians like SV Ranga Rao and NT Rama Rao. I watched the old films and noticed their body languages. I had also studied many books regarding Sri Krishnadevaraya and learnt about him. We started the film with the historical character. After three/four days of shooting, I was able to mould in the character. Later, we shot the Dorababu character.

Chakri gave fantastic music for the movie and I can say music is the life of this film. Veerababu's dialogues, Purna's cinematography and some CG work everything would remain a highlight. I am sure that 'Devaraya' would be a milestone in my film career.' The film-makers are planning to release the film on a grand scale across the globe.
