Shaam's role in 'Purambokku'

Actor Shaam’s last release in Tamil 6 Mezhuguvathigal was critically acclaimed and his third Telugu film Race Gurram starring Allu Arjun in the lead role has released during the last weekend and doing phenomenal business at the box office. Shaam has acted as the elder brother of Allu Arjun in the film. .

In Tamil, Shaam is currently acting in Purambokku directed by S.P.Jananathan whose debut film Iyarkai offered one of the most memorable roles for Shaam in his acting career.

In a recent interview, Shaam has revealed many details about his character in the film. He plays a character named Macaulay who goes to London for higher studies and returns to India as a strictly law abiding citizen who becomes a Police officer striving to uphold the law of the land. A British girl is his love interest in the film. Shaam says that his role of a Police officer will not be an usual one and Jananathan has made it look stylish.

On the other hand Arya plays the entirely contrasting character of a law breaker while Vijay Sethupathi is a different kind who has acquaintance with both of them. But the character and ideologies of all three characters will be entirely different from one another.

Shaam has completed a schedule for the film with Arya last month and started another schedule with Vijay Sethupathi from April 16.

All the three leading actors will shoot together for 44 days at a stretch starting from June. Shaam has ended saying that Purambokku will be a political thriller.
