Sathyaraj's movie starring him in a police officer's role had always succeeded at the box office.

He says, "my films Kadamai Kanniyam Kattupaddu, Walter Vettrivel and Malabar Police had become big hits."

It is this experience that makes him talk big about his next movie Iyer IPS. In this film, Sathyaraj plays an honest cop, who doesn't give in to the machinations of the baddies.

Harirajan, who earned his spurs as a TV director, is wielding the megaphone. Sanghavi, who is straining hard for a serious comeback, is the heroine of the film.

The film is no ordinary story of a straightforward police officer, says the director. There are lot of intricacies involved. The story has lot of depth.

Obviously, the film has something special otherwise its Telugu rights wouldn't have gone for a big price even while it is being made.
