Padmapriya is one of the enigmas of Tamil filmdom.
She had two releases. Both of them have been big hits --- Cheran's Thavamai Thavamirundhu and VishnuvardhanÂs Pattiyal.
Yet, Padmapriya is still something of a fringe actress in Tamil.
This Tamil Nadu-born Malayalam actress is however hoping to make thing work for her in the days to come. Padmapriya longs to be associated with meaningful cinemas.
She is not averse to glamour. It is just that her affinity is more towards quality cinema.
ÂI had a smooth take-off in Malayalam, I would like to explore more and take up films that are different in Tamil, she says.
'Glamour has taken the back stage. It is a healthy scenario now with artistes chosen keeping the story line in mind and not the reputation', she adds.
This smooth-talking and sensitive girl understands life. That is why her understanding of cinema too is good.
