Cinematographer – director Thangar Bachchan's Pallikoodam is ready for release on the second week of July.

Thangar Bachchan says, "My Pallikoodam was completed a couple of months ago. Since we could not get enough theatres, we have to postpone the release”.

“Plans are on to release the movie during the second-week of July”, he said and added, “Pallikoodam would be a journey down the memory lane for the audience”.

“It will take the audience back to their school days. All my artistes including Narain, Sneha, and Shreya Reddy among others have contributed well on the screen”, he said.

Thangar said, “Pallikoodam managed to compete with over 2011 films in Cannes Film Festival this year and emerged one of the top 50 films there. Unfortunately it could not make it to the final list. However I consider it a privilege that my movie had made it to the last round of Cannes. It has emboldened me to screen in various international film fests this year”.

Thangar is currently directing Sathyaraj and Archana for an untitled film that is based on his novel Onbathu Rupai Nottu.

“Almost 60 per cent of the film has been shot and we would complete the shooting in the next couple of weeks”, he added.
