'Ulaga Nayagan' Kamal Haasan, who is always regular in paying tax to the government, was honoured at the 150th anniversary celebrations of the Income Tax department in Chennai on Sunday.

Kamal was one among the special invitees to the function, which saw the participation of Tamil Nadu Governor Surjit Singh Barnala, Cancer Institute chief Dr Shantha and ICAI president V Murali among others.

On the occasion, Barnala presented a certificate to Kamal with a warm smile and greeted the actor. And Kamal, clad in a white shirt and white pant (protesting black money?) expressed his gratitude to the Governor and the Income Tax department.

In his address, Barnala urged everyone to pay tax properly. He lauded the efforts of the Income Tax department, which had successfully crossed one-and-a-half century. "Those paying tax should understand their responsibility," he added.
