'Mambattiyan' from Dec 16

Actor-director-producer Thiyagarajan has announced that 'Mambattiyan', the comeback movie of his son Prashanth, will hit the screens on December 16.

"Attempts are being made to release the film in as many cinema halls as possible. Also, plans are on to promote Mambattiyan in a big way," sources say.

A remake of Thiyagarajan's yesteryear hit 'Malayur Mambattiyan', the Prashanth-starrer has Meera Jasmine, Vadivelu and Mumaith Khan in lead roles. Music is by Thaman, while lyrics are by Na Muthukumar and Annamalai.

Says Prashanth,"Malayur Mambattiyan was a big hit those days and the movie is still remembered by many. So I understood that the responsibility was huge on my shoulders and hence worked hard too”.
