'Udumban' that marks the entry of motor bike racer Dilip Roger's in big screen is in trouble as a stay order has been sought on the film due to the first look images that feature the hero with a giant monitor lizard.

The film's first look stills have the hero with a giant monitor lizard over his shoulders and this seems to have irked a social activist who has sought a stay on this film's release as he feels the team has 'exploited' an endangered species.

"We used a monitor lizard only for the photo shoot and the rest were all graphics so it's obvious we haven't exploited the endangered reptile. Udumban was shot in villages near Karaikudu, we have heard about and seen people there hunt these lizards using dogs and consume them as meat. I think these activists need to do something about that than nitpicking on non-issues like our film", says Dileep.

The film is helmed by S Balan and was slated as a February 10 release but now the release has been pushed and will be officially once the issue is cleared.
