Shweta Menon was in the news recently, after she allowed the crew of her upcoming Malayalam film to record the whole process when she gave birth to a baby girl, at a hospital in Mumbai.

Says the new mother, "It is not for any commercial reasons I agreed to do so. The film Kaliman is about the various travails a woman undergoes. Since giving birth to a child tops the list and I was pregnant as well, I accepted the role."

The 'Naan Avan Illai-2' actress adds: "Director Blessy obtained special permission from the hospital authorities to shoot the process. I am happy that I am representing mothers in this film."

Shweta further says: "I can not forget the moment when I first saw my baby and touched her. My husband Srivatsan was with me in the labour room and his presence energised me."
