Veteran film maker Shaji N. Karun, who is waiting for the release of his new movie with Mammootty titled ‘Kutty Sharanku’ by next month, will be on for a documentary project next. He will work on a full life sketch of world famous painter M F Hussain.

The director is going to meet the veteran who is 94 years old now, in a short while to discuss on the project. As of now, the documentary will kick off its shoot by October and is slated for a release by next year.

The painter had been living in Dubai for quite some time following his portrayal of imagery of Devi in some paintings which irked Hindu fundamentalists. He had been conferred a Qatari citizenship a couple of months ago.

Shaji's documentary on M F Hussein will be around 80 minutes and will be produced by Dubai based entrepreneurs.

Meanwhile, the makers of Shaji's next movie project 'Gaatha' will have to wait for another six months before starting its shoot. The movie based on T Padmanabhan's 'Kadal' will feature superstar Mohanlal in the lead.
