Ramgopal Varma's controversial project 'Bezawada Rowdilu' which is being shot now is facing stiff opposition from a few organisations in Vijayawada. An organisation by the name 'Sarvodaya' met Vijayawada Police Commissioner Amit Garg and urged him to stop the shooting of 'Bezawada Rowdilu'.

A few advocates from Vijayawada met the Police commissioner and complained that RGV is making this film with the story on group fights in Vijayawada that happened about 20 years ago. Two groups headed by Vangaveeti Radha and Devineni Nehru fought fiercely in 80s in Vijayawada. The fight took an ugly turn as it got caste colour later.

Members of 'Sarvodaya' fear that this movie might re-ignite those differences between the warring groups. They urged film families not to allow the stars from their families to act in this movie.

Naga Chaitanya is the hero in this film. RGV and Kiran Kumar Koneru are producing this project while Vivek Krishna is directing it.
