Akkineni Nagarjuna may be known more for his glamorous looks, but the actor has had an affair with not just romantic roles but ideal roles as well. He did the unexpected when he accepted the role of Annamayya. Not surprisingly, he went on to act in decent roles like in Nuvvu Vastavani, Santosham, Azad, Yeduruleni Manisha, Sri Ramadasu and recently Gaganam.

What we want to draw your attention is to Nag's love affair with real-life ideal characters who are revered for their courage, heroism or even wisdom. Nag is currently playing two such roles simultaneously for the first time in his career.

Rajanna, as you all know, will see him portraying the anti-Razakar hero, Hanumanthu. It is no wonder that the firebrand role was irresistible for him when Vijayendra Prasad narrated him the script. He plays a tribal leader who leads a violent fight against the Razakars.

Recently, he was offered an interesting role by JK Bharavi in his directorial Aadi Shankara. Nag said that he feels proud to do a character that had major influence on the life of Aadi Shankaracharya who resuscitated the status of Sanatana Dharma in the land of Bharat.

Great going, Nag! We only wish that you will continue to be offered such remarkable roles.
