Making a biopic on the great poet Tulsidas is no mean task. Even more difficult is depicting the events that changed his life. It is known that the words of Ratnavali, Tulsidas' wife, had profound impact on his life. To the uninitiated, Tulsidas had gone to meet his wife, who was then staying at her parental home, on a night when he was consumed with desire. So much so, he did not even notice the 'accessory' he was using to stealthily climb up the stairs: a snake! Legend has it that Ratnavali said to Tulsidas, "My body is but a network of flesh and bones. If you would develop for Lord Rama even half the love that you have for my filthy body, you would certainly cross the ocean of Samsara and attain immortality and eternal bliss." These words changed his destiny, and he set on a search for spiritual realization.

Sridhar Allani of Komaram Bheem fame is making a movie titled as Ratnavali. Produced by Maccha Srinivasa Rao, the film stars Sunil Sharma in Tulsidas' role. Pooja Baluti is playing his wife. Talking of others, Suman will be seen as Kashi Raju and Vindu Singh as Hanumantha.

The film marks the return of Vani Vishwanath as Mirabhai. Vijay Chandar is playing Valmiki and AVS is playing Surdas.

Sashi Preetam is the music director. Madhu Mahankali is the cinematographer. Ramana is the choreographer. Maccha Srinivasa Rao is the producer.

The very many miraculous events in Tulsidas' life will be pictured by making use of graphics. A set has been erected at the Ramoji Film City. The film will be released in the third week of February. Meanwhile, three songs will be shot on the actors.
