2.0 opens in 48,000 screens across China

Superstar Rajinikanth's '2.0', which released last year in India, has finally secured a grand release in China. Dubbed in the Chinese language, the sci-fi actioner today released in as many as 48,000 screens.

"The Superstar is all set to set the box-office on fire," said Lyca Productions, which had planned a Summer release in China but couldn't.

Directed by Shankar and also starring Akshay Kumar, the mega-budgeted flick comes with AR Rahman's music. It did break into several coveted leagues at the box-office when it released in India in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. However, the amazingly high budget necessitated it to do much better.
