2 deer entered residential areas in Kotturpuram and Taramani on Thursday. While a rescue team from the wildlife range office rescued one deer, the other one entered the CSIR-CLRI campus. Officials received a message from a resident at 4 pm yesterday that a deer had strayed into a ground in Kotturpuram. On seeing the humans, the moderately-sized deer jumped into the bushes. The officials said: “When a deer hides behind a bush, driving it away would be difficult. In this case, the deer was running here and there and it took more than an hour for the team to catch it.”

In Taramani, a stag had entered an apartment complex due to the traffic noise. It had then run towards the college campus where finding it became difficult. The officials plan to rescue the deer in daylight today.
