A guest worker who was working in Chennai and planned to cycle to his home at Lachipeta in Odisha, was found dead at Kavarapettai near Gummidipoondi in the Tamil Nadu-Andhra Pradesh border and it has been said that he might have died due to exhaustion caused by hunger.

After passersby witnessed his body, cops from Arambakkam police station arrived and registered a case under Section 174 (unnatural death) and the body was sent to Ponneri government hospital for autopsy. The person identified as Ram Biswas, had been working for the past 2 years as a construction worker with a firm at Velachery.

Biswas along with four workers from Odisha left Velachery on separate bicycles on Monday night with belongings, as they didn't have money to travel in buses or trains. While initially they decided to stay back in Chennai, with no food or money to survive in Chennai, the five men started the journey. TN police officials are on the lookout for the other four workers. As reported by Tiruvallur police, Ram Biswas might have collapsed on the roadside during his cycle ride due to hunger and thirst.
