Kaali Venkat who after a long struggle found stardom in films such as 'Pizza', 'Mundasupatti', 'Irudhi Suttru', ''Mersal' and 'Soorarai Pottru' and He has proved his immense talent not only in comedy roles but also in sentimental ones.

Kaali Venkat has once again found appreciation for his portrayal of a wily middleman Koni In the recently released super hit 'Sarpatta Parambarai' starring Arya and directed by Pa. Ranjith.

On the occasion of the 382nd anniversary of Chennai City, the busy actor has shared his relationship with it. He recalled that at the age of 15 he came from his hometown Tuticorin to try his luck in Tamil cinema and worked as a helper in a grocery store. He revealed that he was not allowed to eat till the shop in Thiruvanmiyur closed down at the night. However, understanding his plight a lady whom he calls Kala Akka who lived opposite the shop used to call him home and give him food to eat at exactly 7pm.

Kaali Venkat added that the food that Kala akka game him was of the highest quality nonvegetarian dishes. He then apparently lost touch with her as she moved to a new place. He says he is now trying to reach out to her and many other people of Chennai who have helped him in his journey as an actor.

The jovial actor has a handful of big films including Sivakarthikeyan's 'Don', Raghava Lawrence's 'Rudhran', 'Maadu' in which he is playing the lead opposite Riythvika and an untitled film costarring Sai Pallavi produced by Dream Warrior Pictures.
