Veteran comedy actor S. Ve Shekhar is one of the superstars of Tamil stage and he has also played hero and comedian in several Tamil films as well. In recent times he is actively involved in politics as a BJP member. It was reported that the 71 year old was suddenly hospitalized.

Sekhar took to facebook to share "Suddenly admitted in MADRAS ENT HOSPITAL RA PURAM for acute Vertigo with severe vomiting. All because of my aarvakkolaru for having an oil massage which resulted this effect. With grace of God & Dr. Mohan Kameswaran recovering & discharged. Now taking complete Rest at Home. Each day we are learning a lesson. This time at no cost NOMORE OIL MASSAGES Thank you all for your prayers."
