Actress Ragini Dwivedi has been arrested by the police after a raid was conducted in her house this morning. This is in connection with the drug racket that has rocked the Kannada film industry and popular director Indrajit Lankesh coming forward to name several top celebrities of drug abuse. On August 21st Ragini's friend Ravi was arrested following a television serial actress who is said to be a drug supplier and a diary found in her possession named her contacts. The actress changed her phone number when the Central Crime Branch tried to contact her and that is when they approached the court for a search warrant.

Though the actress had posted on her Instagram story that her lawyers are in touch with the authorities and she needed time till Monday to appear in person the police conducted the raid. Sources say that they found her in her house in Bengaluru and had enough evidence to make the arrest.

Ragini Dwivedi apart from playing the lead role in several Kannada films has also acted in the Tamil film 'Nimirndhu Nil' directed by Samuthirakani in which she acted as one of the pairs of Jayam Ravi.
