Prashanth is pinning all his hopes in Adaikalam. After a average outing in the last couple of years, the actor is optimistic of turning things around with the movie directed by debutant Bhuvanaraja.

He has taken up a role that calls for some solid performance and he's delivered the goods. Says Bhuvanaraja, 'I narrated two subjects to Prashanth and he liked both. It was then that I told him there was another script that could be gratifying for him as an actor, and Prashanth was keen to listen to it too. He immediately agreed to do it', he says.

Bhuvanaraja, who has worked as associate with directors Adhiyamaan and Mugavari Durai, says, 'the audience can see a different Prashanth in Adaikkalam. He has come up with a matured performance with right expressions.'

On the subject, he says, 'the movie revolves around the bonding between a responsible father and his estranged wife, son and daughter'.

Kadal Pookal fame Uma, Thyagarajan and Saranya are also in the cast.
