We all know that actor Vishal who successfully campaigned and won the leadership of Nadigar Sangam and Producers Council fighting against all odds will be entering the foray into state politics by contesting as an independent candidate in the RK Nagar by elections which fell vacant after the demise of former Chief Minister J.Jayalalitha in December last year.

Today is the last day of filing nominations to contest in the RK Nagar elections scheduled to take place on December 21, 2017. Vishal will be filing his nomination papers today. Before that Vishal has visited the Ramapuram gardens where former late Chief Minister and AIADMK founder M.G.Ramachandran used to live. There he garlanded the statue of MGR.

Addressing the media persons from Ramapuram. Vishal said he is not contesting the elections as a politician and he is doing so only as a people's representative. He also expressed confidence that he will win in the election.

The 'Thupparivalan' star will also go to the memorial of J.Jayalalitha at Marina and pay homage to her before proceeding to RK Nagar to file nomination.

Later in the day he is expected to hold a press conference.
