A girl threw acid on a 20-year-old boy after he allegedly refused to marry her.

The incident happened in the Jeevangarh area of Aligarh on Thursday. The victim, identified as Faizad, was reportedly having an affair with the girl for the past 6 months, and the girl attacked him with acid when he refused to marry her and then started ignoring her. "The girl was calling up my son but he refused to take her calls. On the day of the incident, she had called him in the morning. My younger son told me that she was probably having an affair with my son. She was asking him to marry her, he did not agree to it, after which this incident happened," the victim's mother reportedly said.

The accused girl has been arrested and an FIR has been registered on her under Section 326 A of the Indian Penal Code.
