After doing some vibrant roles, our Kapoor boy will soon be seen in a much toned down character…

Filmmaker Anurag Basu said to have roped in Ranbir Kapoor for his next venture, where the actor will play a dumb and deaf person. While some of the directors have made films on similar lines without much gaana-vaana, interestingly Basu is keen to bring this film as a thorough musical. Like, he will portray his silent protagonist’s emotions and feelings with the help of songs.

Well, now it said to be quite a task for music director Pritam Chakraborty, who is going to compose the music for this one. “In ordinary circumstances, songs are just a supplement to the hero’s dialogue. In Anurag’s film, Ranbir’s inner world and emotions will have to be expressed through songs. The words and music will let the audience know what he is thinking. So my songs will have to mirror Ranbir’s exact thoughts,” said Pritam who had earlier composed the musical ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’, also starring Ranbir.

However, it wouldn’t be much a problem for our Ranbir, for, he is almost done with the homework for his role earlier. It was during those days when the handsome talent was assisting Sanjay Leela Bhansali in ‘Black’. And on its sets Ranbir said to have taken silent notes where Rani Mukerji and Ayesha Kapoor were being trained for their dumb-and-deaf roles. Besides, the actor had visited several institutions of the hearing and speech impaired, as a part of Black’s research work.

Let’s wait to see the ‘khamosh’ side of Ranbir…
