AP is the Narcotics hub of India: Pawan Kalyan

Jana Sena supremo Pawan Kalyan on Wednesday raised the issue of the ganja cultivation carried out indiscriminately in parts of Andhra Pradesh. He shared video clips of the Delhi, Rajasthan and other police catching hold of huge quantities of ganja with origins from AP.

The actor-politician said that, during his Porata Yatra in the year 2018, he studied the socio-economic issues of the people of AP. "In the tribal areas of the Andhra-Orissa border, I received numerous complaints about health, unemployment, illegal mining and also about ganja trade and its mafia," Kalyan tweeted.

Calling ganja cultivation a socio-economic issue, the Jana Sena chief said that a lot of educated, unemployed youngsters are trapped in ganja trading while the kingpins are happy, facing no consequences for their actions. Saying that the harvest of ganja will start in November, the actor-politician added that the uptake will increase more very soon.

"More than what is seized, the amount of ganja traded out of the State will be far more," the 'Bheemla Nayak' actor said.

The 'Vakeel Saab' actor added that several locals told him in 2018 that there is an intricate criminal network at play. "They were too scared to talk about the nexus. I hope the Government of India puts an interstate Task-Force under the ambit of the Union Home Ministry in order to curb the menace," Pawan Kalyan added. The 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu' actor described AP as the Narcotics hub of the country. "AP has become a narcotics hub and is filled with many drug lords at every level. The entire nation is getting affected due to the wilful inaction of leaders who are running the government," Kalyan pooh-poohed.
