After `Imsai Arasan', director Simbhu Devan has settled down to do another hilarious entertainer in Arai En 305il Kadavul. This time he has teamed up with Prakash Raj and comedians Santhanam and Ganja Karuppu.
Vidyasagar had composed five numbers for the movie which has the likes of Shreya Ghosal, Karthik, Swetha Mohan besides Vidyasagar himself rendering their voice for the album.
Scoring music for a comedy film is no easy task. But Vidyasagar has managed to come out with catchy songs which are like a mild evening breeze. A man of melodies, Vidyasagar is in his prime form composing music.
Ada Ada... (Vineeth, Jayamurthy)
It's a song set in imaginary situation. The heroes imagine themselves to be Neil Armstrong and sing after landing on moon. A peppy number with brisk music, the tune is trendy and a fusion of western and Indian music. Vineeth and Jayamurthy's open throated music manages to create the mood. Pa Vijay has penned the lyrics.
Kadhal Sei (Vidyasagar)
Music director Vidyasagar has rendered his voice for this romantic number. Penned by Na Muthukumar, the song dwells on the changes love can bring a change to a youth. Interestingly, Vidyasagar has sung the song himself. The Western electric equipments and the excellent use of guitar are the highlights of the song. The song is chic, peppy and trendy. Na Muthukumar has brought life to the song with his lyrics.
Avaram Poovukum (Shreya Ghosal)
Begins with fast paced tabla, the song quickly settles down to catch a right rhythm. Shreya Ghosal with her mesmerizing soft voice attracts the attention. The use of percussion instruments specially the dholaks and tablas besides violins in right mix attracts attention of all music-buffs. Kabilan pens the lyrics for the number.
Thendraluku Nee (Karthick, Swetha Mohan)
A typical Vidyasagar number. He knows the knack of coming up with a touchy melody in his albums. The song has all ingredients to top the charts for it has melody written all over it. An 'alap' in the middle is sweet to listen to. Karthik is at his usual best, while Swetha Mohan is an interesting prospect to watch out.
Kurai Ondrum Illai (Harini)
It is simply a take off the famous Carnatic 'keerthana' Kuraio Ondrukm Illai (written by the great Rajagopalachari). It soon settles down to dwell on the challenges faced by the lead heroes in the movies and how they pray Almighty to overcome it. Unfortunately the usual pep in Harini's voice goes missing.
Arai En.is a catchy music album. It has pace, breeze and melody.
