The year 2017 saw the rise of offbeat and experimental film guided by strong content in Tamil cinema. Films such as ‘Taramani’, ‘8 Thottakkal’, ‘Ivan Thanthiran’, ‘Meyaadha Maan’, ‘Aval’ and ‘Kadugu’ come to our mind. 

The latest to join the much celebrated list is debutant Arun Prabhu Purushothaman’s ‘Aruvi’ and ‘Chennai2Singapore’ by Abbas Akbar. Though the entry of these films was a silent affair, ‘Aruvi’ has become the talk of the town with rave reviews with ‘Chennai2Singapore’ also bagging commendations.

Team members belonging to both the films recently came together to celebrate the success of the two movies. It is also notable that Aditi Balan of ‘Aruvi’ fame and music composer Ghibran were present during the gleeful occasion.
